Q What If I do not have Insurance?
A Betances believes that quality health care is a basic human right. For those who are not insured, or who do not have adequate insurance coverage, Betances offers a sliding fee scale. If you need assistance, please call 212-227-8401 ext 111 and 915 and our Finanical Counselors will work with you to insure that your health needs are met.
 
Q How do I make an appointment?
A

Appointments can be made at any time during our office hours by calling 212-227-8401. Established patients should arrive 15 minutes prior to appointment time for the registration process. New patients should arrive 30 minutes prior to appointment time to allow for new patient registration process. All patients must bring their insurance card to each and every appointment.

 
Q What happens if I need a same-day appointment?

A When a person needs an urgent or same day appointment the Patient Care Representative at the registration desk will make every effort to schedule the patient with their regular provider. Occassionally, it will not be possible to see your regular provider in urgent or same day appointment situations. In these cases you will be scheduled to see another provider in your regular provider's team.
 
Q What do I do in case of a medical emergency after hours?

A

In case of a life threatening medical emergency call 911 or go to the hospital emergency room. Call us at 212-227-8401 and follow the prompts for an after hours emergency. You will be connected with our on call provider

 
Q What if I work during the day?

A

Betances is open until 7 pm on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays and 9am - 5pm on Saturdays.

 
Q Where do I go if I have a problem?

Q Does Betances accept my managed care plan?

A

Betances accepts several managed care plans. To find out if Betances accepts your managed care plans, please call our Managed Care Coordinator at 212-227-8401 ext 125.

   
Q Does Betances provide transportation?
A Some insurance plans may pay transportation costs to Betances. Call your insurance provider to find out if your plan covers this service.
   
Q How old does my child need to be to see a doctor on his or her own?
A Your child must be 18 years or older to see a doctor without a parent or guardian present.
 
Q Who are the Betances Medical providers?
